About
After a combined 55+ year career practicing international tax and corporate tax law, including 14 years working together as tax counsel, we both wanted to transition to an area of the law which helped people in our respective communities and the surrounding areas; from individuals to young families to empty nesters (sandwiched between two generations) to the older generation who simply want to protect their legacy, we ensure that our clients are protected and have peace of mind.

Transitioning from a 22+ year career practicing international tax and corporate tax law
After a 22+ year career practicing international tax and corporate tax law, almost entirely spent at a large national law firm’s (Alston & Bird) NYC office as an associate and then a partner as well as then serving as tax counsel to a large multinational corporation (Ingersoll Rand and then its successor entity Trane Technologies), I knew that I wanted to transition to an area of the law where I would make more of an impact on the lives of members of my community and the surrounding areas. It was personal circumstances that drew me to the estate planning area as I discovered the consequences of not being adequately prepared.
Only after a close family member’s accident did we then discover that not only was there no financial Power of Attorney in place for him, there were various other issues, including not knowing where much of his assets/liabilities resided. Unfortunately, due to his then mental state, it was too late to rectify at that point. Our loss, when he died five months later, was compounded by many hours spent on his affairs, which could have been avoided.
I help people of all ages prepare for the unthinkable. With a comprehensive estate plan, you can have a process in place that deals with sudden incapacitation or disability that protects you and your family. You can also ensure that your minor children are left to the guardians that you select and that your assets are distributed in the manner that you want. In summary, these estate planning documents ensure that the applicable laws of New Jersey and New York do not make these decisions for you, which may not be what you would have selected.
